Special Achievement - Downtown Tile Project
Concrete planters located on the corners of downtown Colorado Springs were transformed from ordinary into spectacular with a public art project made possible by local students, Van Briggle Art Pottery, Murphy Constructors, Downtown Partnership/Community Ventures and the City of Colorado Springs.

Area high school students came up with the seven Art Nouveau designs that were hand pressed and glazed onto 500 five-inch tiles before being installed on the planters. The result of this special gift to the citizens of Colorado Springs is a splash of artistic color downtown, even during the coldest winter months.
